The main design criteria and processes are determined as a result of a range of studies carried out. After this stage, a process flow diagram is created, and a report concerning by-products and efficiencies is prepared.
In some studies, the result cannot be achieved by using existing technologies. In such cases, the R&D phase (Research and Development phase) has to be employed.
